Nomad Plans

Nomad offers a wide range of short-term eSIM plans. This can be ideal if you're a heavy user. However, it's worth noting that the speed will be reduced once you reach 1GB each day.

When you choose a plan, you'll see the following: "How many GB of high-speed data you wish per day. You can continue to use your data at a throttled speed of 512kbps after you've used up your daily allocation. High-speed data will reset every 24 hours from the time you activate the data."

One thing worth mentioning is that Nomad has various partnerships with different networks around the world, which means they offer several plans and networks to pick from.

Nomad Global ESIM

Nomad offers various mobile data plans for international travel.

First, you get to pick between two different plans.

• Global
• Global-EX

Both plans offer different pricing, so check the coverage before choosing one.

The global plans focus on short-term plans, while the Global-EX provides plans for 180 to 365 days. For the time being, Global-EX is the only option for long-term travelers.

The global plans work in more countries. You'll get options between 106 and 109 countries.

The global-EX eSIM works in 54 or 81 countries.

Nomad APAC ESIM

Nomad offers an eSIM plan called APAC that works in 15 or 20 countries, depending on the plan chosen.

Both plans cover Australia, New Zealand, and multiple Asian countries.

Nomad SEA-Oceania ESIM

Nomad also has another plan called SEA-Oceania, which basically covers Oceania and Asia too and works in 8 countries.

We believe it's very similar to the APAC plan.

However, we suggest you look at the countries covered before purchasing a plan on Nomad. This way, you can be 100% sure the countries you plan to visit are covered.

Nomad Europe ESIM

Nomad Europe eSIM offers two different plans. You can choose between 30 and 35 countries. Make sure the countries you plan to visit are listed.

Nomad North America ESIM

Nomad North America offers coverage in 3 countries in North America (Canada, Mexico, and the United States). You'll find plans between 7 and 30 days.

Nomad Nordic ESIM

Nomad Nordic offers coverage in 4 countries in the North of Europe (Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden). You'll find plans between 7 and 30 days.

Nomad Africa ESIM

Nomad Africa offers coverage in 14 countries in Africa. You'll find plans between 7 and 30 days.

Nomad Middle East ESIM

Nomad Middle East offers coverage in 7 countries in the Middle-East. You'll find plans between 7 and 30 days.

Experience With Nomad

We tried the Nomad eSIM in 2022 during a trip to Thailand.

The experience was positive, but most plans are up to 30 days, which doesn't suit our lifestyle as we prefer long-term travel.

Nomad Website Experience

The Nomad website is beautiful and relatively easy to navigate. We can find everything we need in just a few clicks.

Nomad recently updated their website to improve user experience.

Buying An ESIM On Nomad

When we find a plan we like, we can purchase it quickly without going through many clicks/pages.

It's even faster once you have an account, as you can skip that step at check-out.

You'll have a few options for payment:

• Credit cards
• Paypal

Once the transaction is completed, you can install and activate your plan right away. You'll get clear steps and guidelines to help you install your eSIM.

If you wish to see how much data you have left, simply go back to Nomad website, and you'll be able to see your plan under My eSIMs. This is also where you should be topping up if you need more mobile data.

Connection

The Internet speed was good, but not as fast as Airalo. To give you an idea, we were using Airalo first and decided to try Nomad while in Thailand. The network went from LTE (on Airalo) to 4G (on Nomad).

However, this changed when we were closer to a bigger city.

Customer Service And Support

As part of our tests and reviews, we contacted the support team to get help, and it took 4h30 to get an answer. 

If we compare Nomad to other eSIM providers, it's pretty slow.

Nomad Honest Opinion

We've used Nomad once in 2022, and haven't tried it again, as we usually prefer using Airalo Discover Global for our travels.

Nomad offers a great selection of plans, with good customer service and affordable prices in most destinations.

We happily recommend Nomad, especially if you're looking for an affordable eSIM that's easy to use.

In some destinations, Nomad offers the best deals on eSIMs, so it's worth comparing your options when choosing a new eSIM plan.

If Nomad Is Not Working

If you're having issues with Nomad, we suggest you contact the support team.

However, here are some things you could look up for if you want a quick fix:

• In your device settings, your eSIM should be active under Mobile Networks
• Verify that mobile data is On for this eSIM
• Verify that data roaming is On
• Add a new APN if needed
• The newly created and saved APN is selected
• You are manually connected to the supported network provider in your carrier settings
