I tried the Roamify eSIM in Japan and was really satisfied. The price is super cheap and the connection was stable almost everywhere, in Tokyo anyway, but even in smaller towns I had a consistently good network. Really great for the price and totally uncomplicated.

I'm currently in Japan and initially got an eSIM from Ubigi - the unlimited tariff for 30 days for 60 USD. I activated it in Germany as recommended, but it simply didn't work in Japan. Despite restarting the phone several times and making various attempts, nothing worked. At some point I had had enough and looked for an alternative.
That's when I came across Yesim. They offer an unlimited tariff that is exactly tailored to the duration of my trip - for 70 USD. Everything has gone smoothly so far: the connection is fast and stable. It's perfectly adequate for Google Maps and normal surfing. The eSIM has worked perfectly in Tokyo, Osaka and Sapporo so far.
